The Society conducts biannual meetings to discuss recent advances in plastic surgery with presentations by national leaders and sessions devoted to patient care in plastic surgery.

The St. Louis Society of Plastic Surgeons sponsored a litter of dogs with Duo Dogs, which is a St. Louis-based national non-profit organization that trains assistance and facility dogs. This organization serves to connect highly trained specialty dogs with specially selected people to cultivate positive changes in individuals, families, and communities. Duo Dogs provides trained dogs to individuals with physical challenges, those in need of emotional assurance, and those facing health issues.

These highly capable dogs also provide assistance to St Louis area students, schools, hospitals, and businesses by attending “in-house” to provide support. Simone, a black English Labrador, was sponsored by the St. Louis Society of Plastic Surgeons and presently works at the Children’s Protection Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
